How I use To Think


  I'm jumping straight to the point: my thinking was all wrong. I used to think that all I had to do to succeed was work hard and stay focused on the task, but I was wrong. I landed plenty of good jobs and lost them all. I started new business ideas and failed to complete them. I was in and out of relationships, in and out of jail, and in and out of alcohol abuse. I always thought I was a good person, and everything that happened in my life was just wrong and messed up!!!

At times, I always had the oppression that I was always at the wrong place at the wrong time. I never understood why failure and bad circumstances stuck to my life like a magnet. Soon realized that something may be wrong with me.

I began drowning myself in self-help books covering goals, success, mental discipline, and much more! I studied every day, highlighting my favorite chapters and writing side notes. At that point, I was very proud of myself for the effort and dedication I had put in. I figured If I gained a massive inventory of knowledge, I would acquire the benefits of living a decent lifestyle, but that also came to a dead end. I was back in a hostile atmosphere with unsuccessful results, and I couldn't understand why.

Now, I am standing alone in a world that feels empty and cold. I couldn't figure out why my luck was so short and painful. Every effort I made and the habit I practiced failed to prosper and bear fruit in my life. I was at a roadblock with what I was dealing with, and I couldn't understand why.

One day, I took a walk by myself in an open field and thought about many things: my life, family, old jobs, and childhood. One of the memories that caught me the most was my childhood. I could never get over this poster when I was in elementary school. Every day when I walked through the halls for recess, lunch, or leaving to go home, this poster would scream out to me, and I would stare at it. The sign was a picture of a plane in the sky. What got me the most about this plane was that it wasn't flying straight; it was pointing up as if flying higher in the sky. Above the plane were words that said, "Attitude Means Altitude." Right at that moment, my eyes widened. "That's it!" I yelled to myself. It was my attitude.

All this time, I thought everyone was after me, every boss hated me, and every relationship I've been through was just a deception when it was my attitude towards every situation the whole time. In everything I did, I always had to rebuild, restart, or reconstruct- never having the opportunity to finish or complete because of this one element. Now that I understood this great secret in life, it was finally time to get my plane off the ground. 

And this is where I will stop the story, but this isn't the end. This blog will continue the story and cover the life lessons I've learned that changed every situation around me. Stick around and be blessed. If you're looking for something, you're on the right track!
